After reading The 17 Essential Qualities of a Team Player" this past summer, I really liked the quote, “Courage has no greater ally than preparation, and fear has no greater enemy.” This quote is meaningful to me because it relates to my life.
As I have been looking to improve myself as an individual, I have used my brother as a mentor or role model because he is always dedicated to everything he does. He never slacks off, and works really hard in school and sports. I want to be as dedicated as him and to keep working toward my goals because as he demonstrates, the hard work pays off.
My favorite food in the cafeteria is an M&M cookie from Savis Hut.
For the health of our team, I will commit to sacrificing cookies for this season because I eat them almost every day and I imagine that all of that extra junk food really builds up.
For this season, I will be more consistent with consuming more water for our team because I don't drink as much as I should and therefore I cramp up and get especially thirsty during practice and games, and if I drink more water I'd be able to run faster and for a longer time.
For myself, I am setting three, specific individual goals regarding: fitness, flexibility and skill.
My fitness goal is to not get tired during games and always have enough energy to keep fighting for the ball
My flexibility goal is to stretch every day after practice in order to avoid soreness
My skill goal is to improve in my stickwork and be able to do a cleaner and more efficient pull.
While at practice or on the field during games, I want to do more positive encouragement from the sidelines for my team because I love when others encourage me and that helps me to do better.
For our team, I want for us to have a lot of spirit because it unites the team and gets us pumped up about games!
